The roots of Grammy nominated Swedish band Little Dragon goes back to the mid 90’s while they were still in high school, and their self-titled debut album arrived nearly a decade later, in 2007. Today’s guest has been their lead vocalist and one of the primary songwriters for the band since their inception, across seven acclaimed full length albums and ten EP’s to date, not to mention collaborations and guest appearances with artists ranging from Gorillaz, to De La Soul, Little Simz, and Brittany Howard. And now, after twenty years with Little Dragon, Yukimi Nagano has stepped out on her own for her solo debut as Yukimi, titled For You. Today we’ll hear how Yukimi has forged her own path on this new album which embodies not only her decades of experience with Little Dragon, but also her journey as a mother, combined with newfound freedom as an artist, new collaborations with more women, including British musician Lianne LaHavas, and new touring band.
