We searched and searched for the most environmentally conscious yet fashion-forward tee we could find, and thanks to our amazing Queen of Merch, Shanna Reznik at Three Four Co., we found it! From the super cool, womxn-of-color owned and operated apparel company, EVERYBODY WORLD, this t-shirt is made from 100% recycled cotton. The textile is the first of its kind in the world, developed from manufacturing waste and responsibly made from fabric to finish in Los Angeles.

How it’s made:

To make the jersey textile, we collect the post industrial cotton waste from yarn factories and make that into a new yarn. The entire process of the Trash tee takes place in the United States, starting with the farms where the cotton is grown. By the time this garment reaches you, around 60 workers in the US have been involved in making it.

Like EVERYBODY.WORLD, co-founders Iris Alonzo and Carolina Crespo were born and bred in Los Angeles. Iris is a fifth-generation Angeleno and Carolina a first-generation American; the daughter of Mexican immigrants who ran a factory in downtown LA for decades from the 1970s. Together, they have more than 30 years experience in apparel.
